Posting this a day late, but we had a lovely sunrise yesterday. I wanted to get a photo of the full moon on the 16th, but didn't get any decent ones. October Sunrise by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Well did any of you get photos of 'The Big Moon'? didn't think I would stand a chance but managed just a fleeting glimpse as it shone through the clouds on it's way to setting beneath the horizon Big Moon only view by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

Well at least you got something of the 'Super Moon', there wasn't even a hint of it here. Dave

I didn't know, so I did a search and this came up: everything2.com/title/Children%2527s+moon"A moon (especially one near full) that shows during daylight hours, so called because the children would be awake to see it. (Victorian)" Nice photo- I wish we'd get some lovely blue skies for a change!

Lovely photo, Helen! Great colours.
I wish we'd get a bit of decent snowfall and not just slush.

One around this morning's sunrise from east London. The composition isn't great and there is too much blown highlights. My excuse is I didn't have a lot of time and was attached to a dog at the time who has little interest in sights, unless the sights are furry and run. It was a great frosty morning that developed into a superb day. Dave

Oh it is a beautiful photo Dave, love the way the light catches the frost.

Thanks Helen. There have been quite a few similar mornings in the last week. I wish I could devote more time to them.
