Very nice, I've not seen either of those species. There was nothing out of the ordinary in my trap last night, but it's always nice to see Peppered Moths. And Green Pugs are ones that I only see once or twice each year.

Lots of Yellow Shells about today as I did a 10-11 mile walk from Pitstone Hill to Wigginton and back, in the Chilterns. I saw them in three different places, and on two of those occasions there were at least two or three of them.

As it was pretty windy + largely overcast today with just occasional brief sunny spells spent some time doing work in the garden + also came across a couple of Yellow Shells as well as a Garden Carpet + Mint Moth.

This little chap came to the kitchen window last night - Least Carpet. Apparently a bit of a London speciality. Least_Carpet by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Yes I've seen a few Least Carpet in the London area.
My MOTD is much more common, but my first Large Yellow Underwing of the year.

Hummingbird Hawkmoth in the garden as I got home at 9pm + feeding on Red Valerian. First I've had in the garden for 4 or 5 years. For a while was almost annual.

Not just one, but 19 Hawk-moths Also a couple I haven't seen in a while, The Shark and Iron Prominent Nige That's 19 Hawk-moths more than I've seen this year! I'm still waiting to see my first of the year. Still, weather forecast is looking favorable this weekend, so maybe I'll be lucky.

Quite a spectacle all those hawks! I was surprised to see a Cinnabar flying low over the pavement along a major road in Nine Elms.
