It's been just over 2 years since we lost the dog and having gone though the no more not ever again phase we looked at getting another but lockdown sent the prices sky high and availability wasn't good. Well we now seem to have found one for us she's still a little young yet and won't be coming home until around the 17dec now all we have to do is buy all the stuff were going to need and possibly fence the pond off Haven't got a name as yet but that will come. ian by ian robinson, on Flickr

She is a beauty, Ian. There is nothing quite like having a dog in the house.

What a mess they made. In it and out of it. Be cautious, fence the pond. Harold.

It's been 3 years since I lost my last dog and I'm gradually considering and waiting.
She looks beautiful.
Re: names (mine were all named different colours) but I was once told (jokingly) not to give your dog a human name - reason is when they disappear or a naughty you don't want to be standing in your garden screaming Jerry your little @£$% ... only to find your new next door neighbour is called Jerry!

Well we brought her home Saturday she's such a tot weighed her in at a massive 1211g I kid you not when I say we've had bigger guinea pigs but she's a terrier and it shows growing sleeping and other stuff is what life's all about for her now. Luna was settled on for her name ian Luna by ian robinson, on Flickr

The pups growing more mischievous and bolder each day and great fun to watch her mad moments tearing about inside and out 10 minutes and it's all over, then time for a kip She's due her second jabs Wednesday she had the lepto 2 but the vets talking about lepto 4 and starting again I've googled it and get the advantages but it has it's risks according to the net. I'll have to talk to the vet and decide there and then she's still under 2Kg and I don't want to overload her little body. Any thoughts? Also I learnt yesterday that she can swim the fence arrives Tuesday Happy new year all ian

Puppy update not all good news but a happy ending fingers crossed Intussusception they called it I'd never heard of it before, apparently it's when one part of the bowl slides over another part like a telescope supposedly not uncommon in young dogs. All started last Saturday morning she was a little sick first thing, by mid morning she was at the vets by dinner she was being operated on. We thought she'd swallowed a stone she's a bugger for picking things up and giving you that take it off me if you can catch me look After getting her back mid week she was still a little sicky so another night in being looked after by the experts. Now she's home and you would hardly know anything had happened she's has to be kept from tearing about and jumping up 'not easy' she's getting her appetite back and as playful as ever. I must be getting old and soppy because you wouldn't believe the anxiety I've had not to mention the pain and tears. Still things are getting back to normal in fact whilst writing this I've had to get up half a dozen times to rescue shoes and things from her Hopefully everything will be fine from here on and we can get on with things as we should be She's still a little girl not quite 3Kg yet, here's a couple of pictures first one a bit grim ian Oh on a lesser note the heating boiler and freezer died last week as well Luna- age 15 weeks by ian robinson, on Flickr Luna -age 16 weeks by ian robinson, on Flickr

Ian, that sounds dreadful... it's awful when a pet you've become attached to becomes so ill- and there's nothing you can do but hope. It sounds as though she's well on the way to recovery, so keeping fingers crossed- she's a beauty. I really hope she's going to be okay! Sending lots of well wishes her way.

That is also a new one on me, Ian. I can understand how upsetting it must have been but it sounds as if she is well on the way to recovery.
I have often wondered what it is about animals that gives them the ability to bounce back so quickly from something that would floor us humans for days or weeks.
All the best for Luna.

Well we had her to see the nurse yesterday for a post op check up and all is going great I'm pleased to say, she still needs to be held back for her own good and that'll be for another couple of weeks or so yet but in general she's back to full velociraptor mode She's a very popular little girl at the vets all the staff cooing over her she loved it and they have loved and looked after her exceptionally well we can't thank them enough. Does seem her body clock is out of sync though 4am this morning she got me up again had a mad half hour and is now fast asleep in her downstairs bed not a chance of that for me though. Still I can manage that and now she can have short walks again thing should improve. Were going to get some fresh air into are lungs at Kirkby today there's just a short walk but 2 nice lakes to look over should be good. Thank for your kind thoughts ian

She'll be 9 months old on Friday and yesterday she caught her first bee she wasn't impressed after we got the sting out of her lip she just sat there bolt upright, but nearly back to normal within an hour and this morning seems fine though a tad quite I'll put that down to the extremely unpleasantly hot night. I'm fair shell shocked myself Talking of hot weather hope everybody is coping with it and staying as cool as possible. ian
