We've filled up our attachment quota, so apologies to everyone trying to upload photos without a Flickr or Photobucket account.
I do try and move photos over to the Wabi Flickr account whenever I can, but recently I've been having trouble with my eyes which is making it difficult to do, (moving them involves a fair amount of fiddly clicking) and on days when my vision is blurry I make too many mistakes.
Hopefully I'll have an un-blurry day sometime this week (it comes and goes) and then I'll be able to free up some space!

Not sure if this has been covered on here, but photobucket users (me) find their pics have disappeared, and by all account wont be coming back unless you pay them $400 a year!

I've been reading about that today, Treehugger- I think they've really let their users down, (from what I understand, they didn't give any warning before pulling the plug- people have just been seeing their photos vanish from forums.) That is a real shame- I hope you had all your photos backed up safely?!

Mine still seem to be there but as ever I'm getting hammered with popups, I've only got a couple of dozen photos on it so no biggy for me but $400? seems a a tad extreme. I only use online sites like these to be able to post on forums like here. Personaly I wouldn't trust anything of mine backed up online paid for or not. I back up photos and personal papers at home one hard drive inside my computer and one external it's just making the effort to update them regularly. ian. PS. treehugger have you run an anti virus/malware scan or log on from a different computer if possible. A quick look online and it seems that it's not that uncomon with photo bucket. Not suprising with all those out of control popups, who knows what you click on. Last resort contact there support team. PPS. found the news article now WOW!

All my pics are on my old laptop. I am also on Flickr, so will use that. Got no reason to log in to photobucket again, blow them.

Had 2 emails now from photobucket asking for a membership subscription, well they can go whistle so I guess we can expect photos in posts to disappear soon. ian.

Most of the photos linked to Photobucket have already vanished here at Wabi... I think the way they've gone about this is really shabby. They could have left existing photos alone, and just said that from the beginning of 2018 they would start charging a membership fee... any photos after that would not be able to be linked. As it is, they've damaged thousands of posts in forums all over the world where people have linked images to their Photobucket accounts. All they've done is make their members angry- and very few people will now pay them anything.

I'm doing this just to see if I'm getting the hang of Flickr - seems a lot more complicated than Photobucket was flic.kr/p/XubFWkMust be the wrong code as it takes me to Flickr rather than embedding the image - any advice folks? Alf

Alf, when you click on the 'share' image arrow (should appear in the lower right corner under your photo, in the center of five icons) that opens a little window that says "Share 1 photo to..." and then there's a choice of four options... Share - Embed - Email - BBCode The one you want to click is the last one, 'BBCode' and then you copy and paste whatever code appears in your post here on the forum. I've got to go out for a couple of hours but I'll check to see if it's worked for you when I get back- fingers crossed!

Trying again! I do this in small doses to limit the frustration!

Well done, Alf! Jowhitwell- if it makes it any easier, if you're on your own computer you don't need to log out of Flickr before posting the url link... I stay logged into Flickr all the time,

Hi jowhitwell, all you need do is open two browser pages at the same time one WABI and one Flickr. Start your post on WABI then when ready to add photos swap pages to your Flickr page click on the photo you've already downloaded to Flicker it will open, then click the right pointing arrow bottom right corner of photo another little box will open on that box click BBCode it will light up blue under that there's a drop down menu click the arrow. I choose medium 640 x 427. now place your curser over the blue lit code and right click then left click copy. Switch back to the WABI browser page and at the bottom left you'll see Preview and BBCode start a new text line. I drop down 2 lines, then click BBCode the page will change slightly, now right click any part of the blank space and click paste the code for your photo will appear. To check all is right click preview your photo will appear if everything is good click create post and bingo job done. Now if your finished you can go back to Flickr and log out then log out of WABI. It really is easier and quicker than it sounds honest ian. PS. I would always recommend logging out of any web sites you have been logged into when finished.

Agree with ianr, but I use the tabs at the top of my browser to flick from one to the other. However I will add this - after you have chosen the photo you want to upload to Flickr you will see a panel on the right -Editing Photo, under Owner's Setting click on Visible to Everyone, on the drop down click Publicly searchable and click Hidden. This way only you and your friends (which includes any groups you belong to) can see your photo, if you don't do this the whole world can see your photos.

I'll have to register on Flickr I think. Photobucket have a lot to answer for, I just can't understand what they thought they'd gain by pulling that mandatory subscription stunt. Is there a limit to how many pictures that members can post on WABI or is it just a case of deletion after a certain length of time?
