The pine martens and the badgers pay very little attention to the trail camera when it is close to the food we put out. Perhaps the food takes precedence. If the camera is away from the food they appear more interested, or in the case of the badgers, more wary. This pine marten decided to take a closer look. Dave www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZU6_d1In9o

That's a great clip, Dave. I'd love to have trail camera, but I have to admit all it would probably record would be the local cats. I was watching a second-hand one on eBay until I realised it was buyer collects from Sheffield! Oh, well. I want a solar pump for the pond cascade, so maybe the camera will have to wait a while.

Put it on your birthday/Christmas list now! It could be just local cats that are recorded. However, there might be other visitors too. Near your pond could interesting. Dave

Dave I agree, we have 2 Bushnell trail cams which I move around to different parts of the garden. We have 3 acres of land in total and 4 regular neighbours cats visiting daily and a couple of occasionals with no chance of keeping them out. Yes the trail cams pick them up but also lots of other species too so well worth trawling through a few cat recordings! The pond location sounds perfect. Start that Christmas wish list now. Shirl

That one is a bit beyond my budget just at the moment, Ashgale...but thanks for the link!
I think it will have to be on my Christmas wish list for a while... although I'll start checking on eBay for second-hand ones in the meantime!
