I've been told that pinkish clouds like that often mean snow is on the way. Nice colours, though!

Been a long time since posted clouds, but thought these were pretty amazing, taken at 10.30 at night (yes still light here at that time) It had rained most of the day then at about 5.30 we got lowering sunlight. Clouds by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

wow - contrail caught at just the right angle for the wind to blow it both side into a feather - lovely

Never thought of that, Helen. I was at a loss to explain how such a cloud could be created naturally; your explanation is seems very likely.

While sitting outside a few nights ago enjoying a fire in the chiminea, a glass of wine and feeding the local biting flies I spotted this pattern in the clouds. It reminded me of the ripples on a sandy beach and I suppose it is a good indication that, just like water, air is a fluid. Dave
