I know NellyDee started a thread a while back about jays nest building but I thought we could have a general Signs of Spring thread for all wildlife.
For a few mornings I have heard one or more song thrushes singing. The songs are a bit weak compared to the rich and fruity ones we are used to, but it is a start.
This morning was even better - a skylark climbing into the air and singing well.
Does anyone have other sightings?

Dave Saw at least eight Skylarks today, (at Martin Down) some of them were warming up a bit songwise, but not really full on - there was a stiff cool breeze to go with the very welcome sunshine.

Just the fact it didn't get dark until 5:00... Hurrah, the days are getting longer!

The days are getting longer the wind is getting stronger. next week we have a return to colder conditions with possible white stuff. All will stop signs of spring then.

Crocuses in flower yesterday morning. These were cultivated ones so perhaps they are earlies, but I don't think I have seen them in flower so early. A few of them looked as if they had come into flower a some days ago.

I think Spring has gone back on hold... it's cold again today, and very windy. Half my daffodils have fallen over in shock.

two GSWs having a sing song with each other or maybe they were arguing. Both looked very funny sat up in the tree all fluffed up with the cold. No other sign of spring the daffs are just poking through the ground (snow) and one some of the plants that had come into bud the buds have dropped off.
