My Acorn Ltl-5210A set for overnight and can take up to 40+ videos, depending on the activity of wild life. The camera has started doing a couple of normal length videos, followed by a quite a few that are less than a couple of seconds, then go back to normal length. I have the camera set a video size 640 x 480, length AVI 30s, interval 1 sec. I have been trying to think of reasons - It is not that it started and there was nothing to film - I have had lots of 30 sec videos of just rain, leaves blowing, or just the scenery. Maybe it is low power - it seems to happen when there are just two bars showing for the battery (shows 3 bars when full). This also puzzles me as I have the extra power unit fixed to the back which takes 6 batteries, but have a feeling that does not work but don't know how to test it. any ideas?

Nelly, I have found a somewhat similar effect on our trail camera. We did not have the camera reverting to normal function but have sometimes had close to 70 videos in a night, most showing nothing of interest and anywhere from about 5 seconds to about 15 seconds in length (our camera is normally set to record videos of 60s). I don't know the reason but I suspected low power. We use recharagble batteries but the charger is fairly basic and I wondered if it wasn't charging properly. What appeared to be a fully charged set of batteries when I put the camera out showed very little charge in the morning. At the moment I'm trying a more sophisticated charger (Technoline BL700) that cycles the batteries through a discharge/recharge sequence until they reach optimum charge. I don't know if this will make a difference but it is interesting that the basic charger would apparent fully charge the batteries in about 3 -4 hours, whereas the current charger has taken over two days to get two batteries up to full charge. Just had a look around the Web and found this from a site with info on potential problems - "Batteries and Video Length. If the camera is taking videos which are a variable and shorter time than you have set, it will be because the battery voltage has dropped and the camera is attempting to save battery power." The above comes from this link - www.ronburyswildlife.com/2012/09/ltl-acorn-5210-and-6210-trail-camera.html The quote above is from quite away through the article which contains some interesting stuff. Thanks Dave interesting. I must have missed it when trolling through Ron Bury's site. Like the sound of the charger you are trying. At the moment I just use ordinary batteries, which gets very expensive with 3 cameras on the go, especially when you cant see which is the battery that has lost its charge.
