Yesterday Purple loosestrife at its best by the lido + in the surrounding woods some Yellow Pimpernel.
Today found a nice colony of Betony in some local woods in a damp clearing that I didn't know was there. Pretty flower.

As a point of interest (or not) I usually have quite a few Spotted Heath Orchid. This year they came up very stunted, with only a couple normal height, they lasted about 3 days then shrived up and died.
My flower of the day Meadow Sweet, lots coming into bloom - I do love the smell and the valerian is coming into flower too.

A few flowers from a walk around a recently opened up part of an old gravel pit now part of Besthorpe nature reserve. Think the first is an evening primrose although only a foot or so tall the usual ones I see are nearer 4 foot tall second one, birds foot trefoil? third and fourth don't know ian evening primrose by ian robinson, on Flickr by ian robinson, on Flickr by ian robinson, on Flickr by ian robinson, on Flickr

A great display of naturalised Hypericum hircinum growing out of the river wall at Battersea with Buddleja joining it. Bees loving both!
