It might be through a mucky window but, given what were obviously fairly dull conditions, it is a good shot. I hope 'Housus mousus' stays outside.

Last week I posted a photo of a pine marten making a fairly unusual daytime visit. About 11 this morning we were treated to this. We are fairly sure it is a female with a couple of young (we think one of the young might be from last year, but don't know how long young stay with the parent). Dave www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rP_Qy-3WkUPS Sorry, I don't know how to link to a video and stop the link working when the video finishes. If you watch this one and let it run on after the end, you will get another, random, video from YouTube, which could be anything.

My mammal of the day is a gorgeous hedgehog in the front garden this morning at 06:10, probably heading to the field for a daytime snooze.

Driving home from work last night, I came round a bend to see a Hare in the middle of the road a little way ahead of me. It ambled to the side of the road and then along the road for a few yards, before disappearing into the long grass on the verge.

My wife and I were ridiculously excited by the sight of a shrew in our garden yesterday - the first we've seen since moving here nearly 20 years ago. There were loads at our previous home just a few miles away.

Last night about 10pm a hedgehog in the front garden and our 2 young foxes under the bird feeders in the back garden - and one of them returned at 6am this morning (until my springer spaniel saw it!)

Our regular fox visitor, who took took a break this evening to relax in the garden for a while. It was just getting dark when I took this through a window, so not the best of photos. He does pose very nicely, though.

Over the moon 2 pine martens on and around the bird feeders and table. First time I have seen them in daylight (6.00am) I usually only see 1 caught on trail camera at night, so presumed there was only 1. Also delight that Nutty (red Squirrel) has started appearing every day.
