I must go down to the sea again, to answer the call of the running tide, and the sea-gull crying.

I saw above, a post regarding posting photos - they go on a different site? When I have a little more time I would like to post a few photos alongside my new report from Wembury, near Plymouth. Have you been there? Taken under the wing of the National Trust, it is a lower shore marine biologists dream, offering a wonderful variety of marine life. I noticed that the rock pool ramble group run by the National Trust, were concentrating quite high up the shore. Probably a health and safety thing, but hey, I was pleased I strayed up that way as the tide came in, as it gave me the Common Shore Crab - possibly the most common crab on our shore! Maybe previously I had overlooked it, or been too far down the shore. Ok, so not an unusual find, but I was delighted to find it, as it gave me that ninth species of crab! I will post properly in a bit. I will tell you about the largest congregation of snakelock sea anemonies I have ever seen. And I will tell you all about the spot where I decided to have my lunch. And what could I hear breathing on the lower shore?
I will have a look to see how to post photos, but if anyone can point me in the right direction it might save me some time next time I am on here.

Hi Marineboy This thread was really intended to give new members information about the site rather than for ongoing discussions. There is a thread for technical issues and the information you need regarding posting images is there - wildaboutthebritishisles.uk/thread/266/important-news-regarding-image-attachments. I look forward to hearing more about marine life but please post it to a wildlife section or people may not see it.

200 million year old silicified bacterial mat has joined the forum. If my user name doesn't display as Cotham Marble that first sentance is going look decidedly strange

I am a newbie so not sure if I am on the correct site. I am a senior citizen who enjoys wildlife & the countryside. I am attaching something I tried to send to Autumn watch 2015, but could not figure out how to do this. On their program they say, send your photo's but not how to do it. When I looked up bbc.co.uk/autumn watch, all I got was a few details, but not how to send them photo's so here I am with you! I was at the RSPB Lochwinnoch reserve earlier this year,(2015), where I saw an Osprey. I was told it was the first one ever seen at Lochwinnoch. The attached photo is of the resident Whooper Swan that has apparently stayed there for the last seven years. I believe these swans normally migrate north, but this one stays put. Well, Scotland is a beautiful country so sounds like a great idea. I have photo', but it appears you do not accept them.
