Hi, I’ve just joined this as this unusual (to me) wasp was very persistent, before I sadly had to kill it. It was constantly coming at me, no matter where I went, I eventually guided it out of the back door, it seemed to have gone, I left the door open just a little, next thing it was back. Anyway, hopefully this image will show up, I’m not used to your forum yet, forgive me if it’s oversized, or wrong, if it is I’ll edit and just add the URL.

It's a shame your irrational fear caused you to kill it as it presented no threat to you at all. I think it's one of the digger wasps, Ectemnius sp.

I don’t normally kill things, as I said, I did guide it to the door, it it really did keep coming at me, even moved to a different room but it followed. Maybe it was the hand cream I had on, I don’t know. It went on for a few minutes, coming towards my face.
Thank you though, I hadn’t seen one like it before.
