Nice photo indeed - I've never seen a chough around here (N. Cumbria) Alf Hi Alf, I think they are fairly well limited (in the UK) to South Wales Gower Coast, and off course they are the County bird for Cornwall. (Can you have a county bird?) Yes, they do have a limited distribution. The only other areas I know of with chough are the Isle of Man, parts of the Northern Ireland coast and the Isle of Islay. I wonder if they will spread in the same way as ravens have. Their diet is a bit more specialised than that of ravens but there are a lot of areas with abundant invertebrates.

They are of course on south stack but they have now got so tame since the RSPB took over they are now feeding on the bird feeders
