From last weeks' The Cumberland News Friday April 6, 2018 (no electronic version so I'm paraphrasing)
"Found - 200 bags of dog mess"
"Volunteers from Penrith and Eden Green Party collected 6 bin bags of litter (including the afore mentioned little bags of doggy doo) in one area of the town. Some of the bags were left under lamp posts and even next to, rather than placing in, the special bins provided. Others were found in hedges, streams or left sitting on walls."
It's hard to believe really and encasing the poo in a plastic bag which will take forever to decay only adds to the problem.

I am not sure but cannot one buy biodegradable bags (caddy bin liners) for waste food, this being the case I cannot see why dog owners could not use these, but then again some people still continue to hang their dog’s poo on hedges. It would seem such people cannot even bother to take the said items home and care little about the countryside.

You can buy biodegradable doggy bags. But like the rest of you I cannot understand why people would bag it up and peg it on a tree or leave it on the floor. It peeves me only slightly less than those lazy ######## who don't pick up at all. Giving responsible dog owners a bad name too ian

I think most of the poo bags are biodegradable, not that excuses those who leave the bags everywhere.
I cannot understand why after buying the poo bags (and possibly the little dispenser too), remembering to take them out when they walk their dogs, doing the potentially messy part(believe me, I know it can be) of picking up the poo, tying the bag, they then throw it in a bush or as I have seen quite a few times, just throw on the ground.
I wonder if it is the carrying of the poo bags they do not like. If so, then washable and waterproof pouches are available.

An awful lot around our way don't bother to pick it up at all. The poo bags in trees really winds me up, though.
