Got a few but no difference to other moon shots. ie. bright moon nice detail but total blackout behind. Looked a lot nicer first thing this morning around 7-45am but I was late getting to the park to catch it before it set ian

These were the two best out of all the ones I took, trying to get some detail, (F-stops and ISOs confuse me, even after all this time... I have to keep twiddling the dials!) The first one I took not long after it rose yesterday evening- it's on digital zoom which always causes it to be a bit grainy. The second one I took this morning, when some clouds were starting to drift across it. I prefer the second one since the sky has a bit of colour to it. I like your pink-ish clouds, Helen. Two good shots. Full moon is often difficult as the lighting in flat but you have good detail that a bit of processing would enhance.

Thanks, Dave. It is tricky- when I used digital zoom to enlarge it as much as possible, I could really see how much hand-held camera shake there really is. It was all over the place! The same thing must be occurring when taking normal photos, but I just don't see it.
Maybe next full moon I'll experiment with a tripod.

As the current Moon wanes there will be some good shadows to see close the the terminator, unfortunately as the waning progresses the Moon rises later and later. The next good opportunity will be from just after the next new moon up to first quarter (from about the 18th/19th of the month) when the moon rises at a much more reasonable time.
