What appear to be snowdrops are popping up under my hedge in the front garden, 2 to 3ins tall now and just showing white tips. I say appear to be because I'm not sure yet what they'll turn out to be. There's a place I walk to the side of which is a long derelict garden and through the spring there's a succession of colour with snowdrops, dafs, bluebells and a whole host of other small wild flowers it's quite a sight when in full bloom. Last autumn walking through looking for shrooms I noticed the rabbits or badgers maybe had turned the ground over and scattered small bulbs everywhere, I picked myself a small bag full up and planted them under my hedge. Keen to see just what pops up and really chuffed that they actually sprouted a photo may follow ian

I did have hundreds of snowdrops in my woods along with daffodils and bluebells the only problem is people keep coming in and digging the bulbs up, but no doubt I will go into more detail along with the question of the filthy rubbish they keep dumping here later in another post.

my snowdrop leaves are slightly "Blueer" than other spring bulbs, not sure if that helps

I saw a large patch of flowering Snowdrops in a patch of grass near the A3 by Horsham.

First trip this year past the old derelict garden where I picked up a few snowdrop bulbs last year and the ground is fair covered with them now and the dafs are not far behind, a few flowering periwinkles too. ian by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr
