There will be two full moons in January, but because the second one falls on the 31st there won't be a full moon in February- but two full ones again in March. The first full moons taking place next year will both be 'super moons', and according to this site the one occurring on Jan. 2 will be the largest (and closest to us) for 2018. Let's all keep fingers crossed we all have some clear weather so that we can see it! Must try and find some fingerless gloves so I can twiddle the camera dials without getting frostbite. earthsky.org/?p=270121

Thanks. I'll try to look out for it, but the current forecast isn't that good for the 2nd.

It was clear yesterday evening, but we were in a rush getting ready to go out and this was the best out of the ones I had time to take.. I was hoping weather would permit more photos this morning as the moon was setting, but it was not to be. Back to complete cloud cover again! New Year's Moon 2018 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr
