Very nice rowanberry, I could post a very similar picture of a little wooden bridge in a park here, painted black and called Black bridge unlike it's bigger brother nearer the the lake painted white, guess what they call that one

I thought I'd take a walk yesterday around the local park and nature reserve to look for some autumn colour but alas very little yet outside of yellow and browns, there was a little red here and there but I guess were going to need a sharp frost or two, before the winds blow all the leaves off hopefully. Even the red oaks only had one tiny little red point on one leaf The Spindle bush was looking nice but nearly all the flowers and fruit were gone. I not sure what the last ones are but they look promising ian red oak by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr spindle bush by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr spindle bush by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr

Autumn Colours - I love the variations of colour at this time of the years. The Beech Trees a range of yellow to almost red, they fallen leaves golden brown. The Birch have already lost their leaves. The Ferns cannot make up their minds some are still green and others completely over with shriveled dark brown leaves. Same with the Rowan - some still green, some with no leaves at all. Really don't think the flora knows what to do. Some daisies have appeared, some of the primrose have started flowering again as have the lupins. Think as far as the trees go it depends on which get the cold winds most. Autumn 2017 by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

Are first real frost here in Lincoln, yeah last week there were some scraping of windscreens but today it was crusty under foot and a little misty to boot. Under the trees along the foot path the light coming through was quite mystical ian autumn light by IAN ROBINSON, on Flickr

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest against the earth’s sweet flowing breast A tree that looks at God all day, and lifts her leafy arms to pray A tree that may in summer wear a nest of robins in her hair; upon whose bosom snow has lain; who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree. Joyce Kilmer

Such a beautiful photograph, Ian! I love the way you've captured the beams of sunlight coming through. What little autumn colour we had is nearly gone now.... Fallen Leaves Nov2017 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Fantastic pics. Is this the best Autumn ever for colours? Not here unfortunately. It has been the worst I have seen. It was gob smacking how quickly the trees lost their leaves and everything started going to shades of brown. The Birch were the first they had just started turn to a mild shade of yellow then all the leaves fell off, the next were the Rowan, Larch, Tea leaved Willow and Ash. The beech kept their leaves the longest so did have a bit of Autumn colour with them. The Bracken which usually give a glorious display in Autumn just seemed to keel over and go dark brown and to my surprise, considering what a wet year it was the Ferns did the same. However, outwith the area towards the NW coast and over the hills towards East there were some lovely autumn colours seen when driving out this area. Got quite jealous. Still at least the mosses and the fallen leaves give a bit of colour. Dreich Autumn by Helen Skelton, on Flickr

It's been a bit of a damp squib down here as well this year... so was glad to see some colour thanks to this yellow field maple in Stanmore Park today. Autumn Gold Nov17 by Wabi Gallery, on Flickr

Fantastic pics. Is this the best Autumn ever for colours? Well I don't know about the best ever but around here if the light is right it's looking good. The beeches in the wood look great and Sat morning with the orange glow and magenta cast in the sky the oaks were fair glowing red and the birches were golden ian.
