Well I'm sorry you feel that way but if you'd look at posts on the technical issues page you'll see there's been quite an in depth discussion on posting images. Check it out and try again, as it says the best way is through a flickr account free to set up and easy to use. Also while your on flickr check out some of the open accounts there are some amazing photographers and inspirational images to look at. Give it a go there's nothing to lose. ian

Hello, Skywatcher- I did reply to your post about images, here... wildaboutthebritishisles.uk/thread/1543/images... and I also explained about the problems I am having with my eyes, which is currently making it difficult for me to spend much time on the computer- I had photos I wanted to upload yesterday, but couldn't even see well enough to do so. It means I cannot reply to postings immediately, but I am doing my best at the moment. We have reached our very small image allowance with this forum host. It would cost hundreds of pounds to buy more space, which I am unable to afford... so, the only way around this is for everyone to have their own Flickr account, and copy and paste the image urls into their posts. It's a little more time consuming, but this is the route a great many forums take. It might be that with newer technological developments more recent forums have a greater capacity... I don't know. I am sorry you're not happy here, but in actual fact we DO care, and have done the best we can to provide a little wildlife forum during Wild About Britain's interregnum for its members.

I have only just seen this post as I have been away but the answer is to post on flickr first as already explained. Anyhow can I take this opportunity to thank the dear lady for taking the time to set this forum up in an effort to keep WAB going, she did not have to do this but in an effort to keep us together has chosen to. I myself will probably not bother to join flickr as I do not take many photos now mainly because it causes a great many important sightings to be missed in my particular case. But fear not dear reader Alan will be posting again soon of that I am sure, oh and I do hope your eyes get better soon Rowanberry and thank you once again.

I'd like to add my appreciation of rowanberry. I think skywalker didn't realise the history of this group and the technical constraints it has. Most of us read the technical issues posts and are happy to work within them. Not all groups suit all people, but I am more than happy with this forum. Many thanks, and I too hope your eyes improve soon.

Thank you, Teasel- your support is invaluable, and I really appreciate it. The eye/vision issue looks like it might be an on-going thing, but one that (if I'm careful) ought to be something I can prevent from getting any worse.

Thoughts with you and fingers crossed. You and Snowlynx have been my rock by keeping old WAB friends together, you have no idea just how much I have appreciated WABI through what has been a difficult couple of years for me.

Thanks Helen- your support has been invaluable, too... and I know you've been having a tough time of it as well. I think our wildlife is so important to the well-being of all of us, and having a place to share the things we see and experience sort of gives us a reason to get out there and see more of it, I think. All the birds and creatures in my garden brighten my days, and being able to come here and post photos or ask for ids gives me a sense that I'm not alone in finding our natural world so amazing. I'm really grateful for everyone here!

Haven't been on the site for ages - just too much else going on - life gets complicated at times! Planned to post pics of a leucistic sparrow I saw yesterday only to find Photobucket want to hold me to ransom if I try to use them, images disappearing and now Rowanberry bowing out. I'm devastated and will have to have think about what I want to do next.
Thank you Rowanberry for your work and support here and very best wishes to you for the future.

No, no Alf! You've misunderstood...
It is Skywatcher who isn't happy here- I'm not leaving, I was just the last person to reply to the post!
I did see about what Photobucket is doing to its members, which is a real shame- and a terrible nuisance for everyone here who has used them to link to images. I wouldn't worry too much about photos disappearing- it's happened to hundreds of forums, and everyone knows why.
Can you open a Flickr account? They seem to be more reliable... if they started doing what Photobucket has done I think there would be an international riot of photographers!

Sorry about the confusion and hugely relieved I had the wrong end of the stick!
I opened a Flickr account this pm - fingers crossed they don't change.
