After me thinking the pond was going to be without tadpoles after the spawn all turned to jelly and melted away, today I finally saw a few. The rain last night cleared the thin film off the surface of the water and I counted about a dozen... nothing like previous years when there have been hundreds, but at least there are some, at least. Really pleased to see them. The newts are still doing well- they glide around amongst the pond plants like little dragons.
