Photographed last night inside our house in Staffordshire. Obviously Noctuidae, and I suspect either one of the Brindles or one of the Chestnuts, but at the moment I can't take it any further, although I'll keep on looking. Assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks Nige.
How do you do it?
To my untrained eye the supposedly diagnostic almost square kidney mark is anything but!
I keep trying to learn but seem to be having difficulty, partly, I suppose due to a lack of both familiarity and experience. In addition, despite having numerous tomes on the subject, illustrations rarely seem to provide an unambiguous i.d.
I've photographed another macro in the garden tonight and for the moment am totally stumped, and may have to end up with yet another post on this forum to display my stupidity.
