Snowlynx and I did anticipate this happening when we first started WaBI...that once WaB reappeared we thought that most people would return to that. I don't blame anyone for that! of course people want a forum that is busier and more active, with lots of members. I for one do prefer our little community here, and we will continue to keep WaBI ticking over for as long as there is still anyone posting! I just had to renew the domain name a few days ago, which means it's been going for a year now... I'm quite pleased about that, because looking after a forum was something we had never attempted before, and I really do appreciate everyone's support and enthusiasm over the past 12 months. I like to think we helped to give our members an outlet for their wildlife interests until WaB was able to get back up and running. I am going to be temporarily busy over the next fortnight with a major ongoing project and so won't be able to post as much as I usually do- but I wanted to let everyone know, so that you didn't think I had deserted you! Thanks for the update. I like the closer contact here, but it certainly has gone very quiet of late. I hope we can keep going.

I don't often post on WAB but I have noticed it to is very quiet. Some of WAB's problem could be that although Stuart said it may come and go for a while as things get sorted out, that was back in January and I see that no new members have joined it since last year. Hopefully things will pick up here as I much prefer this site. Kim

I got in by trying to read a thread only members can access from which a login screen was displayed. The reason there have been no new members since last year is because new member registration has been disabled. It took me two goes to log out. On the second attempt it logged me and then displayed an error screen which I could not get out of until I closed down explorer using task manager. Didn't like that very much. I think WAB still has problems. I going to continue with WABBERS until I feel confident enough WAB has resolved all its problems and is running smoothly. Harold.

Thanks for the update. I like the closer contact here, but it certainly has gone very quiet of late. I hope we can keep going. I think the only reason it has gone quite is that it is the holiday season and also at the start of Summer there is so much else to do that people don't get out nature wandering as much. If you remember wab used to go semi-quite over the summer months and lots will have been taking photos abroad.

I'm new here but intend to keep posting pics if and when I get them. Tried joining WAB but it was disabled.

Just tried logging on to WAB - first time for months - but just get error message. A few people seem to have disappeared from WABI lately but to lose WABI too would be a huge miss so let's keep it going.

I haven't been on in a while. Bristol Council changed all their filtering and this site was blocked for a while, and I don't use the laptop much in the evenings. But pleased to say it's now unblocked again Haven't bothered with WaB for ages, got bored of it not working a lot of the time. I notice that the URL for this site doesn't work anymore though. I know you said you've just renewed the domain, but wildaboutthebritishisles.uk/ doesn't seem to work for me anymore. Nige

Try putting this URL on your favourites wabi.freeforums.net/board/1/welcomeI have had this link on my favourites ever since joining and have had none of the problems mentioned above. Could it be the security on your computers? Just a thought.
